You've made the decision: you want to purchase an air conditioner. Now it's important to install the air conditioner carefully, as this ensures optimal performance. Given the complexity involved in such an installation, you might consider hiring an air conditioning installer. In this article, we'll discuss some useful tips for finding an air conditioning installer.
How to choose a suitable air conditioning installer?

1. Get quotes from multiple companies
As with other major purchases, it is wise to approach several companies and get quotes. This will not only help you get a clear picture of the prevailing prices, but also of the options that are best suited in your situation.
Tips:
- Consider at least three air conditioning companies in your area.
- Be as specific as possible in your request and provide as much information about your situation as possible. The more detailed your question, the more accurate the quote will be, and the better you can judge the company's suitability.
Because there are many factors involved in choosing the right air conditioner, the installer will often want to visit your home. This allows them to better understand your situation and provide an even more accurate quote.
2. Compare quotes carefully
Now that you've received the quotes, it's time to compare them carefully. Take the time to research what is included in the price and what systems and specifications are recommended. Consider the following factors:
- Which A/C models are presented and what features do they offer? Do they match your needs and requirements?
- How energy efficient are the devices offered? What control options does the air conditioner offer and which ones appeal most to you?
- What does the air conditioner look like? Is the design important to you?
- What are the costs, and are there additional costs for installation, maintenance or warranties?
- What warranty terms are offered and which offer the most confidence?
- Is there maintenance included or are maintenance contracts offered?
Tips:
- Consider at least three air conditioning companies in your area.
- Be as specific as possible in your request and provide as much information about your situation as possible. The more detailed your question, the more accurate the quote will be, and the better you can judge the company's suitability.
Interesting fact: Did you know that the age of your home can affect the VAT you pay? If your home is older than 10 years and you have an air conditioner professionally installed, you will pay only 6% VAT on the entire bill. For a home under 10 years old, the usual 21% VAT applies. This is a valuable consideration when making your choice.
3. Make your choice and plan the installation
After comparing quotes, it's time to choose the air conditioning contractor that best suits your needs and wants. Contact the chosen company quickly to avoid facing long wait times. Installation can usually take place within four weeks, but this can vary from company to company. Keep in mind that waiting times tend to be longer in the summer months, so it is wise to make your decision on time.
4. Check references and reviews
Before making your final decision, it is helpful to consult the experiences of other customers. Look for reviews or ask for references from previous customers. A reliable installer often has positive reviews and can show examples of previous projects. This gives you more assurance about the quality of their work and customer satisfaction.
These steps will help you make an informed decision about installing your air conditioner so you can enjoy a comfortable temperature in your home for years to come.
How is an air conditioner installed?
After approving a quote and setting a date, the time has finally come: your air conditioner will be installed. In the case of a monoblock air conditioner, installation doesn't take that long. Below are the main steps an air conditioning installer goes through to provide your space with optimal comfort.
Step 1: Choose the right location
The installer begins with a thorough inspection of the space. This examines such things as size, layout, insulation and electrical services. A wall that provides access to outside air should also be chosen. Based on this information, the installer makes a plan to determine the best location for the air conditioner.
Step 3: Installation of the grilles and air ducts
The air tubes are installed next. Then the bracket can be attached, followed by the installation of the grilles for air inlet and outlet.
Step 5: Setup and testing
Finally, the system is tuned and extensively tested. The installer sets the desired settings and checks that everything works correctly.
Step 2: Preparing the wall
The air conditioning unit must be securely fastened to the wall. The installation of a monoblock air conditioner requires two holes to the outside to directly exhaust warm air and moisture. This requires drilling through the outside wall. These holes should be 10 to 15 cm in diameter.
Step 4: Connecting the Monoblock
After the bracket is firmly attached to the wall, the monoblock can be installed. To do this, the air conditioning installer lifts the unit to the height of the bracket and attaches it securely.
